Tee up your career as a part of our team with the TPC Network! The Landscape Gardener I is an entry-level position that has been specially trained to operate specialized equipment and/or to perform specific tasks relative to the landscape operations of the Golf Course Maintenance Department.
QUALIFICATIONS High school education or equivalent preferred The ability to understand and follow directions and operate landscape and golf course machinery, plus the successful completion of the Landscape Gardener I training program Be 18 years old and be able to operate a motor vehicle RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Clean machinery after each use Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Manager Perform other functions and routine landscape operations activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent II or Landscape Foreman Be thoroughly trained in the proper procedures required to perform each task before performing each task.
Follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task Perform specific tasks relative to Landscape Gardener I, including:
Rotary mower operations Line trim around trees, shrubs, posts, etc Edge, sidewalks, landscape beds, etc Sod La ying Utility vehicle operation Blower Operations Vacuum operations Manual weeding Hand tool operations RotoTiller operation Mulch distribution Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 50 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
