Associate Director, Supplier Relations

The Associate Director will build and maintain supplier relationship processes between Alnylam and raw material suppliers.  The role will be responsible to ensure short and long-term strategies are in place to support the material needs for current and pipeline products. The ideal candidate has significant experience building relationships with suppliers globally and mitigating risk across our supplier base. Summary of Key Responsibilities Manage raw material vendors and ensure long-term supply strategies are in place with key vendors.  Identify risks in the supply chain and establish plans to mitigate. Establish and foster strong collaborative relationships with external partners and service providers. Lead relationship development with key business partners for raw materials supporting Alnylam products through clinical development, product registration and commercialization. Work closely with the procurement team on contract vendor selection, vendor evaluation audits, for materials in support of internal Alnylam Cambridge and Norton, MA manufacturing, as well as critical materials provided to Alnylam's contract manufacturers. Responsible for developing supply agreements in close collaboration with procurement, manufacturing and quality. Work with and engage Alnylam CMC technical teams, including process sciences, analytical, quality control and manufacturing in the area of raw materials. Prepare purchasing plan and execute per agreed budget   Qualifications BS preferred or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Pharma, or Life Science. More than 10 years' experience, including experience with raw materials supporting a biopharmaceutical manufacturing operation.  Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to be able to engage confidently with key stakeholders at all levels across and outside the organization. Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including comfort working with global external stakeholders (predominantly in US, Europe and Asia). Understanding of cGMP processes and varying criticality of raw materials. Be customer focused, respectful, have high integrity; be open & honest and excellent at execution. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
